About Us
Find government information and data on the federal, state, and local levels, reference resources on intergovernmental organizations, the largest collection of maps in the state of Indiana as well as microform materials and scanners. GIMMS is also home to Indiana University’s Federal Depository Library, a U.S. Government Publishing Office program aimed to connect community members with free access to government information and the tools to utilize it. In 2020, Herman B Wells was named Library of the Year by the U.S. Government Publishing Office for the creative ways GIMMS connects people with information about the federal government. The Herman B Wells Library is one of just over 1,000 designated libraries in the Federal Depository Library Program, 30 of which operate in Indiana.
