Access Services is the Libraries' point of contact for issues relating to borrowing and use of materials. Our department handles issues such as bills and fines, interlibrary loan pickup, circulation, notification for overdues, recalls, and courtesy reminders of forthcoming overdues, request delivery, recalls, renewals, and course reserves.
The following services are available from the the Access Services department:
We provide a number of request and delivery services for IU Bloomington students, faculty and staff.
Information About Wells Library Lockers
The Wells Library offers lockers for short-term use on a first-come, first-served basis.
Wells Library Faculty Studies
The Herman B Wells Library has a limited number of faculty study rooms in the East Tower for full-time, appointed faculty of IU Bloomington.
All scholars and researchers are welcome to use the resources of the IUB Libraries. IUB faculty, staff, and students may check out materials using a current valid Crimson Card. Indiana residents may obtain a Library Borrowers Card.
Loan Periods, Overdue Fines and Billing
Loan periods vary depending on borrower status, library, and type of material. Borrowers must renew or return material on or before its due date to avoid overdue fines. Some library materials cannot be borrowed.
If you wish to obtain an item that is checked out to another user, you can place a recall. This gives the other user a deadline by which the item must be returned so that you can borrow it.
Office Delivery: Faculty & Graduate Students
We will deliver library books to faculty and graduate students via campus mail provided you have a secure office or mailbox on campus.
Request A Purchase
Users may request that the Libraries purchase a book, a journal subscription, access to an electronic resource, or other material for the collection.
