Granfalloon 2024
IU Libraries is proud to partner with the IU Arts and Humanities Council to bring Granfalloon to Bloomington in 2024; events will take place from May 20 through June 9 in various Bloomington locations. Several librarians have collaborated to create a Granfalloon research guide celebrating the life and work of Kurt Vonnegut, works inspired by him, and other resources related to the theme of each year's annual convergence - check it out!
IU is safeguard for America's Black history
Personal papers and recordings from both well-known and unsung African Americans are being digitally preserved at IU under an agreement between IU Libraries, UITS, and The HistoryMakers, a national non-profit organization that has grown to be the nation’s largest African American video oral history archive, and is dedicated to documenting African American life, history and culture.
#SaferTogether winners announced
In Spring 2024, IU Libraries launched its second ever archival remix contest, Safer Together, with support from the IU Libraries Moving Image Archive Collections. Congratulations to recent Media School graduate Audra Sapp, whose winning entry earned her a $2000 prize! Wesley Kopis and Michelle Obioma earned runner-up honors.
