An Archival Remix Contest : Presented by IU Libraries Moving Image Archive

CALL TO ACTION

IU Libraries Moving Image Archive invites YOU to create a short, compelling video using archival footage that raises awareness about good health practices that support the wellbeing of our Hoosier community.  Through a juried competition, awarded videos will win a prize of up to $2,000!

From handwashing and covering sneezes to dressing appropriately for the weather, getting enough rest, and staying home when feeling unwell, these everyday practices show how small actions play a big role in preventing illness. Using archival film from IU Libraries, your video should highlight how these habits—along with shared responsibility and collective care—help keep communities safer and healthier. Your video should focus on a specific aspect of community health—whether that's one key habit or how a few related practices work together. The key is creating a focused, cohesive message.

Safer Together is a donor-funded contest from IU Libraries Moving Image Archive inviting all students on the Bloomington campus to create a short, compelling video using IU's archival film footage. Your goal?  Turn archival footage into a creative, engaging public health message! And, maybe win cash and bragging rights for your efforts. Winning videos will be used in various IU outreach campaigns starting in Summer and Fall 2026. Looks pretty good on a resume too. Submit your video by March 31, 2026.
