About
Leanne Nay is IU’s Creative Technologies Librarian. As part of the Scholars’ Commons Department, her research interests include gender imbalance in makerspaces and creativity and play in libraries. Her recent projects include developing the Creator Commons and working with colleagues at the University of Illinois to develop a train-the-trainer program for the HathiTrust Research Center. Leanne is the faculty champion for the Center of Excellence for Women and Technology 3D Printing and Design Team.
Leanne frequently speaks and leads workshops on topics related to library makerspaces, having presented at venues such as Makerspaces for Research and Innovation in Academics (MIRA), the Association of Creative Technologies in Academic Libraries (ACTAL), and the International Symposium on Academic Makerspaces (ISAM). She received her Master of Library Science from IU in 2014, and also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film Production from Chapman University.
