As Content Strategist within the IU Libraries Communications department, Anne Haines leads social media strategy across all units of the Libraries and manages the @IULibraries and @HermanBWells Twitter and Facebook accounts on a day-to-day basis. She takes a particular interest in ensuring that the Libraries' social media communications are accessible to all users. Anne also curates key content on the Libraries' home page, creates and edits content for online and print materials (particularly news items), assists librarians and staff with promotion of Libraries events, creates and sends promotional emails using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, manages and edits the Libraries' internal staff newsletter, and other communications tasks. Additionally, she can sometimes be found as part of the team providing reference services in the Scholars' Commons, where she learns a great deal about what library users want and need.

Prior to taking on her Communications role in 2021, Anne served for many years as Web Content Specialist in the Libraries' Discovery & User Experience department, where she applied her expertise in content strategy and writing for the web to ensure an outstanding user experience for the numerous daily visitors to the Libraries’ website, blogs, and other online applications.

Anne is a nationally recognized speaker, regularly presenting at key industry conferences such as Confab Central, Confab Higher Ed, and edUi. The Libraries recognized Anne’s significant contributions and commitment to excellence in 2015 with the IU Libraries Professional Staff Award.

Anne is also a widely-published poet; her chapbook, Breach, was published by Finishing Line Press in 2008. She earned both her Master of Library Science and Bachelor of Arts in English degrees at Indiana University Bloomington.
