On October 9th, Governor Holcomb, along with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Andrew Wheeler, announced that the Hoosier state will receive a loan for $436 million to be used toward cleaner drinking water. Wheeler stated that Indiana will implement a first-of-its-kind infrastructure approach to make this happen, and the EPA is hoping our state can serve as a model to others in the future.
This loan will finance a variety of projects. Perhaps most notably is the underground tunnel Citizens Energy Group is working on right in the heart of Indianapolis. This tunnel system, deemed "DigIndy," should prevent the White River from having sewage dumped in.
