We are pleased to announce that another 10 years of Indiana University Board of Trustees minutes are now online and fully searchable, bringing the grand total to 102 years.
The Board of Trustees Minutes website is an ongoing, cooperative project between the IU Libraries Digital Collections Services, the University Archives, and the IU Board of Trustees Office to provide access to a growing number of meeting minutes on the web.
The latest addition comes from the years 1914-1924, a significant era in which the university experienced the crises of World War I and the 1918 flu pandemic as well as expanded academic opportunities through the creation of several graduate and professional schools. In the case of the war, the minutes reflect the preparedness measures taken by members of the IU community, including the introduction of military education and training, the organization of war relief efforts, and the departure of students and faculty to serve in various military and civilian capacities.
The full-text search and browsing options available through the website make the digital Board of Trustees minutes an excellent starting point for in-depth research related to IU history.
