First Data from 2020 Census Available
On April 26, 2021, the U.S. Census Bureau announced the first results from the 2020 Census. The Census Bureau released the nation and state population counts, which are used for apportionment, the process by which the 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are distributed among the 50 states. Apportionment population totals also include overseas federal employees (both military and civilian) and their dependents living with them.
