The Black Women's Research Community (BWRC) began in 2022 with a cohort of Black women graduate students. Applications open each fall for a new cohort. Cohort members meet regularly throughout the academic year to develop research skills and build community with each other. All BWRC cohort members are asked to be available for the majority of meetings. Alumna are invited to key events throughout the year and may serve as mentors to incoming cohort members.

For this year, most regular events will be scheduled on the second and fourth Fridays of each month during the lunch hour, with some exceptions.

Application requirements
All applicants should be Black women or non-binary graduate students at IU Bloomington. We ask that applicants plan to regularly attend lunch time meetings twice monthly. Spaces are limited and regular attendance will make community-building possible. Applicants should also expect to complete an end of year assessment survey of the program.
