Wylie House Museum

Plan Your Visit
Wylie House Museum is the restored historic 1835 home of the first president of IU, Andrew Wylie. It is committed to illuminating the many histories associated with the home. Original artifacts and archival collections inform the interpretation of the museum, which is both a public history site and an academic resource, supporting the Indiana University curriculum through course instruction, reference-research support, tours, and student experiential learning opportunities.
We invite and encourage students, faculty, researchers, and the public to tour the museum, visit the historic gardens, and explore our collections.
Regular public hours are Wed.-Sat., 10am - 4pm. Free, guided tours begin on the hour every hour, with the last one beginning at 3pm. The museum is closed on major holidays and during Indiana University breaks.
- Please contact the museum to arrange group tours with more than eight people.
- Class visits and research appointments may be scheduled outside public hours.
