Two students walk out of Wells Library from the patio entrance. This entrance will be closed due to reconstruction from May 16 to July 2022.
End date has been updated and may be subject to further delay.
The patio entrance on the south side of Herman B Wells Library closed Monday, May 16, for reconstruction. The project will finish in early July 2022. This affects the accessible entrance nearest to The Bookmark[et] Eatery, which will remain open during this time.
There are two accessible entrances on the north (10th Street) side of the building. The ground floor entrance can be accessed from the sidewalk via a ramp, and the first floor level entrance (north side of the main lobby) can be accessed without stairs if you approach via the intersection of 10th and Eagleson.
To access ground-level locations such as Media Services, Moving Image Archives, the Bookmark[et] Eatery, and the Black Film Archives, enter using the recently constructed ramp on the northwest side of the building. Or, if approaching from the northeast, come in the first level entrance off of Eagleson. Then, once in the lobby, go to the West Tower to take the elevator down to the ground level.
For University Division advising or other Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education services in the Library, please use the northwest entrance.
