The Big Ten Academic Alliance libraries' UBorrow service offers rapid access to over 90 million books from the collections of 15 university libraries in the Midwest and the Center for Research Libraries. Books requested through UBorrow will typically arrive on campus within a week and can be checked out for 17 weeks, with an option for a 17-week renewal. The relative proximity of Big Ten Academic Alliance partners, as well as the commitments made by each institution, allows books to be delivered through UBorrow far more rapidly than they usually are through traditional interlibrary loan programs.

UBorrow enables library patrons to search for and request books directly from:

What can be borrowed?

You may request physical items such as print books, audiovisual materials and musical scores. These would include items that are not owned or not available in any of the libraries on the Indiana University Bloomington campus.

If an item is available, UBorrow will display the call number and location of the item.

If no copies of the item are available, you can click on the “Request via Interlibrary Loan” button to open the ILL form.
