Indiana University Libraries Moving Image Archive Screening Room : Visitor Guidelines and Expectations
The Indiana University Libraries Screening Room (IULMIA SR) thanks all guests—students, faculty, staff, community members, and others—for treating the space and fellow viewers with respect.
Please observe the following guidelines:
- Food and beverages are not permitted, with the exception of bottled water
- Please keep the space clean and free of litter (including paper scraps, and yes, fingernail clippings)
- Silence all cell phones and electronic devices (including laptops and tablets) before the screening begins.
- IF an electronic device is required, please sit in the back of the room in order to minimize distraction
- Photography, video recording, and audio recording are strictly prohibited unless explicit permission has been granted
- The room can be chilly; we recommend bringing a sweater or light jacket for your comfort
- Remain quiet during screenings so everyone can enjoy the presentation
- Limit exiting and re-entering during screenings; if necessary, use the back entrance quietly
- For students and faculty using the space for class: please help us maintain this specialized facility by treating all equipment and furniture with care; return furniture to its original configuration if moved during your session.
The IULMIA SR is committed to accessibility. If you require accommodations to fully participate in a screening, please contact Jamie Thomas, Head Projectionist at the IULMIA SR, in advance.
Screenings may include media containing content that some viewers could find sensitive or upsetting. If you have any questions or concerns about a screening, please contact the IULMIA team in advance at iulmia@iu.edu.
