If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would you choose, and why? If you could ask them anything, what would you ask?
In a spin on this common ice breaker, the fall semester exhibition will invite you to join the staff, graduate students, and friends of the University Archives for a hypothetical evening of conversation, food, and wine with 18 guests drawn from our collection. Born over a period of nearly two centuries, these individuals include a veteran of the Civil War and a Tuskegee Airman from WWII, leaders such as a beloved Senator statesman and IU’s first African American student body president, noted athletes in baseball and basketball, influential and intriguing members of the faculty and administration, and a pioneer, a prankster, and a refugee in the student body.
It is sure to be a meal filled with moments of intrigue, inspiration, and laughter with these figures from our collective history, served up in the exhibition cases inside University Archives at Wells Library.
