The IU Libraries Scholarly Communication Department is proud to announce its inaugural Open Educators Award and welcomes nominations from all members of the Indiana University Bloomington community! The Open Educator Awards will be awarded to one or more instructors who use Open Educational Resources (OER) in their course(s). We want to recognize and celebrate instructors who are making their course materials as accessible as possible, advancing equity via cost savings for students, and enhancing student learning. Awardee(s) will receive a monetary award along with recognition on IU Libraries communication channels and the IU Libraries website.
Any IUB instructor of record is eligible for the Open Educators Award, except for Fellows in the Course Material Fellowship Program. IU students, instructors, administrators, and staff are welcome to nominate an instructor or colleague who they believe demonstrates exemplary use of OER in their teaching. Self-nominations are also welcome and encouraged. If you wish to nominate an instructor or yourself, please complete and submit the nomination form. Selection of the awardees will be based on cost savings and educational impact. Nominations must be submitted by March 17, 2023, and awards will be announced by the end of the Spring 2023 semester.
