IU Bloomington faculty, students, and staff now have free access to the Foundation Directory Online (FDO), a comprehensive database of private philanthropic funders, thanks to a partnership by IU Libraries and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research.

This newly available resource is now live through the IU Libraries website, ready for you to conduct your online funder research from any computer using IU CAS login.  The FDO provides information on funders' giving trends, areas of support, and limitations; instructions on approaching U.S. foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities, including a growing number of non-U.S. grantmakers; and a database of sponsoring companies, offering a quick pathway to corporate funders.

If you are interested in seeking private funding, please explore the FDO and contact a member of IU's Corporate and Foundation Relations team for further guidance. As with all IU Libraries resources, help using this database interface is available.  Visit the Ask A Librarian page to learn about the many ways we are available for assistance.
