The IUB Libraries have recently acquired additional microfiche of the NCJRS publications with funds from our NEH Endowment. The microfiche provide access to the research reports and unpublished research abstracted in the NCJRS Abstracts Database. The fiche are housed in Government Information, Maps and Microform Services (East Tower 2 or ET2) on the 2nd floor, east tower of the IUB Main Library, SuDocs Microfiche J 28.22/1X: NCJ# . Earlier fiche had been acquired through the Federal Depository Library Program. For a complete list of the numbers held at IUB, consult IUCAT. The National Criminal Justice Reference Service Abstracts Database contains summaries of 170,000 publications including Federal, state, and local government reports, books, research reports, journal articles, and unpublished research. Many of the reports and publications included in the NCJRS microfiche are not readily available elsewhere. The database comprehensively abstracts the following periodicals plus many more are routinely examined: Crime and Delinquency, Criminal Justice and Behavior, Criminology, Homicide Studies, Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Justice Quarterly, Justice Research Policy, Police Chief , Policing: An International Journal of Police Strategies and Management, and Prison Journal. Subject areas include corrections, courts, drugs and crime, law enforcement, juvenile justice, crime statistics, domestic preparedness, and victims of crime.

Search NCJRS Virtual Library. This searches the NCJRS web site and other federal web sites that contain publications related to criminal justice. It links to more than 7,000 full-text publications, but is not as comprehensive as the NCJRS Abstracts Database. Most full text publications date from the mid-1990's where the NCJRS Abstracts Database covers materials since the 1970's.
