In her role as Learning Commons Librarian and West Tower Coordinator, Meredith Knoff works closely with Libraries and campus partners to implement and coordinate services in the Wells Library Learning Commons and West Tower by creating and assessing service model implementation and library space management. She also supervises and assesses the Learning Commons Research Desk, a one-on-one research consultation service for students at all stages of research. Additionally, Meredith organizes outreach and engagement initiatives, including the library's participation in New Student Orientation and Welcome Week.
Meredith's research interests includes service partnership and design, staff training models, library policy development, and pedagogical approaches to research services. She has published on topics of inclusive approaches to reference services and graduate mentoring and presented on her work with civic and voting literacy, asynchronous training models, and programming initiatives.
Meredith has served in a number of service positions, including her position as President of the Bloomington Library Faculty from 2021-2022. She also served as the chair of the Association of Research Libraries' Instruction Section Communication Committee from 2021-2022, the Co-convener of the Academic Library Services to International Students Interest Group from 2020-2021, and the convener of the Universal Accessibility Interest Group from 2020-2021.
Meredith earned her MSLIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2016. Prior to joining IU Libraries, she was the Information literacy Librarian at Misericordia University from 2016-2018.
