Linguistics

About the collection

The Linguistics collection at the IU Bloomington Libraries has been carefully developed over several decades. Materials purchased on this fund are primarily intended to support departmental research and teaching. The collection is strong in the basic components of general linguistics (i.e. syntax, phonology, and semantics), although the core collection has been broadened over the years to encompass areas such as discourse analysis, pragmatics, teaching English as second language, computational linguistics, translation, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and historical linguistics.

The bulk of the collection is housed in the Wells Library and the Auxiliary Library Facility.
