Lineage as Legacy: Inspiration, Conception, Implementation

Whether you know about the rich archival and special collections found on the Indiana University Bloomington campus or not, you may not truly know all they have to offer and all the various ways to utilize the collections. The IU Libraries is pleased to announce the Special Collections Speakers Series. Join us as we highlight and explore the wide-ranging uses of the amazing materials found in Bloomington campus archives, libraries, and special collections!
The result of a yearlong collaboration with the IU Archives, Lineage as Legacy was an exhibition by students and faculty from the Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design Area in the School of Fine Art + Design at Indiana University. The show served as a tribute to Alma Eikerman, founder of IU’s metalsmithing program in 1947, and whose influence is still present in the field today. Learn more about the students' work with the Eikerman papers at the IU Archives and how the archival collection served as an inspiration for their exhibition.
