Lilly Exhibition: "Raintree County: A Celebration of the Life and Work of Ross Lockridge, Jr."

"Raintree County: A Celebration of the Life and Work of Ross Lockridge, Jr.,” on exhibition at the Lilly Library through May 19, chronicles the life and work of renowned Indiana author, Ross Lockridge, Jr., and the world of his iconographic novel, Raintree County. The exhibition will showcase the development of his work as it evolved and was inspired by real-life Henry County Indiana and the extended Lockridge family experiences and activities. Features of the exhibition include the original art for the controversial geoglyph depicted on the novel’s first dust-jacket, the novel’s presentation as a Hollywood movie produced by MGM starring Elizabeth Taylor, Montgomery Clift and Eva Marie Saint, and select personal items from the Lockridge family archives. 

The Lilly Library is open from Mon-Friday 9-6 and on Saturdays from 9-1PM; or 812-855-2452.
