Prepared by Jennifer Laherty, jlaherty@iu.edu, Head of Sciences, Indiana University Libraries. Please direct all Libraries questions to Jen.
The Life Sciences Library closed permanently at the end of our work-day, 4pm, on December 20, 2019. While the physical space of the Life Sciences Library will be returned to the College, faculty and students will continue to have access to library services and resources.
Books: All new books acquired for the biological sciences will be sent to the Sciences Library in the Chemistry Building. All new health sciences materials will be sent to the Wells Library. Older materials will either be placed in the Wells Library or the Auxiliary Library Facility. IUCAT will continue to serve as the finding aid for book and video material.
E-journals and Life Sciences related search tools: These may be accessed through the Libraries’ web site. Each academic area has a subject resource page that serves as a launch point for relevant indices and content.
Services:
Print Reserves: Faculty will be contacted regarding their Spring 2020 and future course reserves needs. Faculty will be able to select a new location for these items. Possible libraries include the Sciences Library or the Wells Library.
Delivery: Faculty and Graduate Students with secure mailboxes are encouraged to sign up for office delivery service so that physical library materials may route directly to them.
For additional services such as Reference and Instructional Support, please contact Librarians:
Jen Laherty, jlaherty@iu.edu: biological and medical sciences
Amy Minix, alminix@iu.edu: nursing sciences.
