About

Katie Morrison works as an Assistant Archivist within the Indiana University Archives.  She is interested in the intersections between archives, visual culture, and the environment. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed journal articles, including "Document and data continuity at the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology" with Robert D. Montoya (Journal of Documentation 2019).

Katie has several years of experience teaching in modern and contemporary art history. She has also taught ILS-Z 503: Representation and Organization at IU Bloomington and currently enjoys assisting with instruction in other Information and Library Science classes on campus. Katie especially enjoys working with unprocessed collections. She contributes to IU Archives by transforming minimally organized materials and documentation into accessible research collections.

Katie holds an M.A. degree in art history from University of Colorado Boulder and an M.L.S. degree with a specialization in archives & records management from Indiana University Bloomington. She earned her B.A. in art history at Purdue University. Before coming to Bloomington, Katie worked as an adjunct art history instructor and as a regional education director for an arts nonprofit.
