K-12 Educational Resources at the Wylie House Museum

Tours

The Wylie House is happy to welcome public, private, and home school students as well as camps and clubs for free, guided tours of the 19th century home.  The museum overlaps with several other local cultural institutions in its ability to offer content support in the areas of early U.S., Indiana, and local history. This pre-1840s house and its surrounding heirloom gardens, however, offer a unique, immersive connection to mid-and-late 19th century domestic life. Please plan on approximately 45 minutes for your visit.
To schedule a tour contact the museum at libwylie@indiana.edu or 812-855-6224.

Pre-visit Activities

We have found that by providing teachers and parents with an activity to explore with students prior to their visit to the museum, the students come curious and eager to engage which affords them a richer and more enjoyable educational experience. We've developed several pre-visit activities - read more on our K-12 Educational Activities page.
