Please come to the new poster display, Catching a Glimpse of Tibet: the Roof of the World, in the East Asian Collection, 8th floor of the Wells Library. We are introducing Tibet and the Tibetan Plateau in China. With an average elevation exceeding 4,500 metres (14,800 ft), it is sometimes called "the Roof of the World" because it stands over 3 miles (4.8 km) above sea level and is the world's highest and largest plateau.
