In these pandemic months, IU Libraries Bloomington has not charged overdue fees, or fines for recalled and unreturned items. As campus buildings are once again open and we look forward to fully reopening the Wells stacks and all circulation, it is time for overdue materials to come back to the Libraries. Remember that circulation policies and loan lengths vary on type of material and IU affiliation, so use the My Account feature of IUCAT (requires CAS login) to check due dates.
Going forward, most regular IU Libraries Bloomington materials will not be charged traditional daily overdue fees. This does not include reserves, Media Services items, and special loans, for example, non-circulating items. However, recall and non-return fees return on July 1, 2021. All material is subject to recall if needed by another borrower, and if not returned by the recall due date is subject to a $25 fine. For details on these costs and processes, view the Libraries policies and charges. Recall and reserves fines are polices adopted by the Libraries to assist researchers in shared access to library materials.
