The January 2018 Federal Government Shutdown and the Federal Depository Library Program

As a result of the federal government shutdown which began January 19th, the Government Publishing Office is temporarily only able to work on activities directly related to the legislative process, ensuring an orderly shutdown, and/or the protection of property and assets.  In light of this, the Federal Depository Library here at IUB will not be receiving any new tangible materials until shortly after the shutdown ends. "AskGPO," the Government Publishing Office's contact form is accessible but will not be responded to in the meantime.  Additionally, GPO.gov, FDLP.gov, and Ben's Guide to the U.S. Government, along with other federal agencies, will not see any updates nor answer any research or publication requests until after the end of the shutdown.

The Government Information, Maps and Microform Services department (GIMMS) in Wells Library continues to serve all users requesting U.S. government information.  The Federal Depository Library Program has a long tradition of making government information accessible.
