Devyn Thornton, IU Libraries Interlibrary Loan

1. What would you like people to know about you?

I study exercise science on the pre-med track. I hope to work in sports medicine and become the head physician for a collegiate athletic department.

2. How has working at the IU Libraries enhanced your college experience?

Working at the IU Libraries has enhanced my college experience by providing me the opportunity to financially support myself through college. Living on my own with the expectations to cover living expenses makes working very beneficial.

3. How do you envision the IU Libraries Undergraduate Scholarship helping you on your educational/personal path?

I envision the IU Libraries Undergraduate Scholarship helping me on my educational path by decreasing the burden of extra tuition costs throughout my time at IU. The less stress I have financially allows me to focus more on academics and achieve better results.

4. What books, podcasts, apps, and/or music are you preoccupied with right now that you recommend and why?

I personally listen to a lot of podcasts regarding NCAA basketball teams. I personally recommend Inside the Hall. It gives news and other information about IU's basketball teams.

5. What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?

My advice to incoming freshman would be to utilize all of your resources and learn how to study properly. College is hard but it’s not impossible. You just have to put effort into everything you do.
