Ruth Lilly Dean of University Libraries Diane Dallis-Comentale established the IU Libraries Undergraduate Scholarship in the Fall of 2023. Each scholar receives a $3,000 annual award plus Libraries’ student employment of at least 10 hours per week.To retain the scholarship — job and money — students must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA each year.

1. What would you like people to know about you?

One thing that I would like for people to know about me is that I'm always open to new ideas and enjoy connecting with people.

2. How has working at the IU Libraries enhanced your college experience?

Working at IU Libraries has added a valuable structure to my daily routine, helping me stay organized with my tasks. It's also been an incredible opportunity to meet and connect with people I might not have otherwise, which has made my college experience even more fulfilling.

3. What do you hope to do after you graduate?

After graduation, I plan to pursue a career in the cybersecurity and technology field. I'm especially interested in roles like digital forensics analyst, information security manager, and security consultant, and I'm currently exploring which path is the best fit for me.

4. What activities and/or hobbies do you like to do when you are not studying or working?

When I'm not studying or working, I love to unwind by working out, playing video games, and reading. I also enjoy trying new restaurants and watching mystery, fantasy, and comedy shows with my friends.

5. What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?

The single most important piece of advice I can give to incoming freshmen is to prioritize sleep. It’s easy to think you can get by on less, but a good night's rest is incredibly helpful for every aspect of your life—from your academics to your overall well-being.
