Jessicah Lamin, Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center Library and Education Library

1. What would you like people to know about you?

My name is Jessicah Lamin, and I work mostly at the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center Library. I am a Junior studying Clinical Psychology, with a minor in Social Science and Medicine. I love cooking, reading, and going to the gym!

2. How has working at the IU Libraries enhanced your college experience?

Working for IU Libraries has been such a great addition to my college experience, giving me an opportunity to make an income while also still having time for school and social life. I have made a majority of my friends and connections through working at the library and being in the Neal-Marshall in general.

3. What do you hope to do after you graduate?

I plan to stay at IU for a master's program and then study on the West Coast for my post-grad. From there, I hope to do anything working with children and adolescents, studying and researching behavior, and administering treatment.

4. What activities and/or hobbies do you like to do when you are not studying or working?

I love learning new recipes; I spend a lot of time on Pinterest for that. I also work out, which helps me clear my mind and reset my body throughout the week with studying and going to classes. I also actively practice my faith, which also keeps me levelheaded during these hectic years.

5. What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?

Take every opportunity that is offered to you, and do not be afraid to do it alone. This journey is for you and only you, so do everything to make the most of it from the beginning. It is never too early to try anything.

This journey is for you and only you, so do everything to make the most of it from the beginning.
