Finding Historic Indiana Documents: Finding and verifying publications issued by the State of Indiana.
Includes bibliographies of publications of the State of Indiana, from territorial days to the present. Great place to begin a search to verify historical documents from Indiana.

Indiana Geological Survey Indiana Maps
Includes interactive maps of Indiana focusing on its geological resources.

Indiana Department of Natural Resources
Provides many maps of state parks, reservoirs, fish and game areas, state forests, recreation areas, hiking and canoe trails, etc.

Indiana Geographic Information Council: The Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) is a nonprofit membership organization of GIS users, professionals and educators. Administered by an elected board of directors, IGIC is recognized as the official statewide coordinating body for Indiana geographic information. See their Online Maps Portal:

Indiana Spatial Data
Includes interactive maps of Indiana focusing on provision of USGS Indiana Digital Ortho Quarter Quads and Indiana Digital Raster Graphics maps, using MrSID. Links to documentation at USGS is provided.

Indiana Department of Transportation City Maps
Includes maps of major Indiana cities: Anderson, Bloomington, Calumet, Columbus, Evansville, Falls City Area, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Kokomo, Lafayette, Michigan City, Muncie, Richmond, and South Bend.

1895 Atlas Title Page
Provide access to county maps by state from the U.S. portion of an 1895 world atlas. Prepared by genealogist Pam Rietsch.

Indiana Land Records
Provides a description of the history of land records, including maps. For land patents from the General Land Office, see the U.S. Bureau of Land Management's website.

Indiana County Plat Books
Plat books, showing land ownership, are collected by the IUB Libraries for Indiana Counties only, housed on East Tower 2 of the Herman B Wells Library. While we do not actively purchase these, many are received as gifts.
