Dr. Heiser was a renowned botany researcher and professor at Indiana University Bloomington. He spent his entire career from 1947 to 1986 teaching and researching at IUB. This summer, Wylie House Museum was able to work with his daughter, Cynthia to present some of the gourd collections that Dr. Heiser had collected from all around the world. Gourds have been used as musical instruments, containers, decorative items, and even clothing in different parts of world. This exhibit shows the different varieties of gourds from parts of the world. The exhibit is opened to public at the Wylie House Museum Education Center for the month of July.
