In 1970 on the first Earth Day, approximately 20,000 Americans took to the streets to educate others about the plight of our planet. Every year since, on April 22, people from around the world have gathered to bring awareness and action to the environment and the harm being done to it.
Whether you are engaging in Earth Day activities or simply doing research on a facet of the environment, the IU Libraries Government Information, Maps and Microform Services (GIMMS) has a LibGuide in honor of Earth Day. It provides government resources, lists of organizations, maps, historical information, and other materials. The Earth Day 2021 guide is full of a myriad of primary and secondary sources waiting to be utilized for the good of the planet.
