    Access Services

    Access Services is your point of contact for borrowing and use of Libraries materials. We handle issues such as bills and fines, interlibrary loan pickup, circulation, notification for overdues, recalls, and courtesy reminders of forthcoming overdues, request delivery, recalls, and renewals.

    The Acquisitions Department is responsible for acquiring books, journals and electronic resources, including databases, digital collections and other non-print materials for the Libraries. We make sure you have the materials you need for your research journey.

    The Office of the Dean manages the operations, finances, and employees of multiple libraries, archives, and other locations on the Bloomington campus of Indiana University. We promote student success and faculty research in all subject areas.

    Our team is responsible for the transportation of materials and processing of records to prepare items for long term storage in the Auxiliary Library Facility on the Bloomington campus.

    Auxiliary Library Facility (ALF) Services

    Our team at the Ruth Lilly Auxiliary Library Facility (ALF) protects and preserves materials from the Libraries' collections in a secure, climate-controlled repository to ensure their availability for researchers today and in the future.

    Moving Image Collections and Archives

    The Moving Image Collections and Archives in the IU Bloomington Libraries is the home of the Black Film Center Archive, the IU Libraries' Moving Image Archive, and the Libraries' Media Services.

    Preservation

    The Preservation Department is responsible for the care of the collections of the Indiana University Libraries. Our work consists of preventive measures designed to protect collections from damage and deterioration, and hands-on treatment to stabilize, repair, conserve, and reformat damaged materials. We treat primarily book and paper-based materials in our conservation labs, but we also provide some services for collections in all physical formats, including environmental monitoring, disaster response, consultations, and enclosures. We also assist departments on the IU Bloomington campus with consultations, evaluation of environmental conditions, and disaster response.
