Discretionary Funds allow Ruth Lilly Dean of University Libraries Dean Diane Dallis-Comentale and her team meet the most pressing needs of IU Libraries. Unrestricted giving grants IU Libraries the flexibility and muscle needed to address significant concerns whether that be student, faculty, or facility related. For example, in 2023 Dean Dallis-Comentale saw the need for an undergraduate scholarship which required employment at IU Libraries and offered a stipend of $3,000 per semester. She turned to unrestricted funding to bring her idea to fruition.
