Company research

Company research will be an important part of business-focused assignments but can also be integral to tasks like investing or job interviews. The Libraries subscribe to a large number of information resources that can be used for company research. 

If you need to find:

Analyst Reports: Use ThomsonONE to access company and investment analyst reports. NOTE: ThomsonONE can only be accessed using Internet Explorer. It is not supported by any other browser.

Company Lists: Use ReferenceUSA or D&B Business Browser to generate a list of companies by industry, location, number of employees, sales, or other attributes.

Company News: Use Factiva to locate company news from a number of business publications like the Wall Street Journal.

Competitors: Use Mergent Intellect or Mergent Online to locate a company's competitors.

Financials (revenue, ratios, stock data): Use Mergent Online  or ThomsonONE to gain access to a company's current and historical financial statements and filings and equity pricing. NOTE: ThomsonONE can only be accessed using Internet Explorer. It is not supported by any other browser.

Hierarchies: Use Corporate Affiliations to locate parent companies, their affiliates, subsidiaries, and divisions.

Private Companies: Use PrivCo or ReferenceUSA to gain access to financial information for private companies.

SWOT Analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats): Use MarketLine Advantage to gain access to SWOTs and other company analysis.
