As Office Services Assistant for the Archives of Traditional Music, Cobie Ball serves as the first point of contact for visitors, and assists patrons with access to holdings. She also processes donations, coordinates special events in the Hoagy Carmichael Room, assists in the hiring and supervising of temporary employees, and generates content for social media, website, and online collections. In addition to these responsibilities, she has written a successful National Register of Historic Places nomination for the Charles S. and Mary McGill House in Valparaiso, Indiana and created “Voices of the Brown Mansion,” a living history program for high school students.
Prior to joining the IU Libraries, Cobie worked as Marketing Manager for Acclaro Valuation Advisors and Efthimiou, Ball & Company, LLC. She has a strong background in museum management, having served as Museum Educator for the Westchester Township (Indiana) History Museum; Curator of Collections and Exhibitions for the Michigan Maritime Museum; and Curator of Collections and Exhibitions for The Holland Museum in Michigan.
Cobie received her B.A. in European studies from Principia College in Illinois, and her M.A. in historical administration from Eastern Illinois University.
