CartoDB, the web mapping tool we know and love, has dropped the "DB" and rebranded to CARTO. Along with this name change comes the introduction of a new builder that will eventually replace the current CartoDB Editor. The new Builder tool  will have more functionality for spatial analysis, new widgets for visualization, and a beginner-friendly drag and drop interface. They plan to release the Builder over the course of the summer, so look for a workshop on the new CARTO in the Scholars' Commons CartoShop Workshop series this fall!  If you're new to web mapping and want to learn how to make your own interactve maps, CARTO is a great place to start!  Visit the CARTO Map Academy,  attend a library workshop this fall, or email your friendly GIS Librarian to learn more.
