As a Serials Procurement & Access Specialist, Brittany Boren researches the costs and availability of serials for the collection managers. She works closely with global vendors to place serial and periodical subscriptions in a variety of formats and languages for Bloomington and five regional campus libraries. She processes publisher and platform transfers, cancellations, cessations, and reorders. She also activates and maintains online journal access and troubleshoots access interruptions.

Brittany is well-versed in both physical and online serials. While pursuing her graduate degree, she began working in Serials Acquisitions as a Student Serials Coordinator. The following year she was hired as the Serials Binding & Maintenance Coordinator and then transitioned to her current role. Previous to joining the Indiana University Libraries, she worked at Bracken Library at Ball State University. She holds a Master of Information Science from Indiana University and a BFA in Metals with a minor in Art History from Ball State University.
