The City of Bloomington, Indiana, is one of 13 international cities selected to participate in the 2022 Innovation Training program at the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University. This program is intended to provide no-cost consulting, training, and networking to address key issues facing the residents of participating cities. The year-long program will support an 'innovation team', led by Innovation Director Devta Kidd and representing eight different city departments, as well as Bloomington Transit. The goal of this team is to address a single priority issue facing the city: How might we create and maintain our sidewalk infrastructure in a sustainable and equitable way? You can follow Bloomington's participation in the program at this project page: bloomington.in.gov/innovate/2022-sidewalks.
Bloomington to Receive Innovation Training
Bloomington Mayor John HamiltonSidewalks are important to our residents and our community. They help us be a walkable/bikeable city and contribute to many of our climate action goals. I thank Devta Kidd for her leadership and look forward to the recommendations from this innovation cohort on improving this vital infrastructure.
