#BlackLit is a commemoration of Black Literature from the past to the present. We welcome everyone from the Indiana University community, Bloomington and surrounding areas to participate. Readers will present excerpts from classic literature by iconic African American authors as well as contemporary writers. All are welcome to share excerpts from Black literature or present their original works. There will also be time for open discussion and reflection.
Join the ongoing conversation on Twitter @NMBCCLibrary via the hashtag #BlackLit. Then meet at the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center Library on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 6:00 PM.
Refreshments will be served.
Parking is free on the surface of the Jordan Avenue Parking garage: take a ticket to get in, no fee will be charged after 6:00 PM. For those displaying a state-issued handicap license plate or hang tag handicapped parking will be free on the night of the event only. The spaces are located on East 7th Street directly north of the Neal-Marshall/Theatre building, near the IU Libraries book drop. Spaces in the Wells Library/School of Global and International Studies parking lot will be free as well.
