Below is a list of formats that Audio-Video Preservation Services (AVPS) is able to digitize. Please inquire about formats not on this list as we are close to obtaining the ability to digitize additional formats. AVPS staff can assist with identifying and negotiating with vendors to digitize formats that we are not able to handle at this time.

Open Reel Audio Tape
¼ inch tape stocks
Full track, half-track, and quarter-track configurations in mono or stereo, as appropriate
Speeds ranging from 0.9375 (15/16) ips to 15 ips
Slow speed (15/16 and 1 7/8 ips) quarter track content is digitized by oversampling at 192Hz
Discs
Lacquer, Aluminum, Shellac, Vinyl, LP, Paper core, pre-grooved vinyl
Speeds of 33, 45, and 78 rpm
We have a wide variety of styli, both elliptical and conical, ranging from microgroove (0.7) to coarse groove (5.0)
Cylinders
Brown wax, Gold Moulded, Amberol, Concert Cylinders, and Dictaphones
Playback machine: Endpoint cylinder machine with a variety of styli

All standard size cassette Types I – IV, as well as tapes with Dolby noise reduction.
