About

As IU Libraries' Spanish Language & Latin American Collections Cataloger since 2017, Andreah Grove is responsible for cataloging Latin American collection materials, including cartonera, chapbooks, zines, and other special collections that tend to defy description. Additionally, they review and propose local metadata policies and workflows for these collections to improve user discovery and access.

Andreah is a transplant Hoosier originally from Michigan. They began working for IU Libraries in 2016 as a Monographic Cataloger and served as Interim Head of Monographic Text Cataloging during 2024 and 2025. Andreah earned a Master of Library Science degree from Indiana University Bloomington in 2016 and a B.A. in English and Spanish from Central Michigan University in 2012.

As a former public library cataloger who adapted to academia, Andreah is passionate about users’ needs for discovery and access to the catalog. Their research interests include utilizing NACO and SACO to enhance identity management and subject and genre headings, as well as to minimize implicit bias, particularly for the LGBTQIA+ community.
