About
As the Neuro-Health Sciences Librarian, Amy Minix serves as the liaison to nursing, optometry, psychological & brain sciences, and speech, language, & hearing sciences. In this role, she provides instructional support, conducts literature searches, creates programming and outreach initiatives, and consults on library services with students, faculty, and staff across the neurological and health sciences.
Amy's research interests include supporting Open Educational Resources and visual literacy in the clinical sciences; her work focuses on connecting library services and support into the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning. She also mentors library and information science students who are interested in pursuing health science librarianship. She recently co-published a chapter with Visual Literacy and Resources Librarian Jackie Fleming, which focuses on incorporating the visual literacy framework into the nursing curriculum.
A lifelong Hoosier, Amy kicked off her education at Ball State University and graduated with her bachelor's degree in 2015. She received her M.I.S. and M.L.S. from Indiana University Bloomington in the spring of 2018 and joined IU Libraries before the start of the fall 2018 semester.
