As Scholars' Commons Librarian, Alyssa Denneler builds community for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, faculty, and staff. To do this, she engages with colleagues inside and outside of the libraries to host exhibits, events, and workshops. She routinely teaches citation management, literature review, and multidisciplinary introductory research skills.
Alyssa has research interests in library exhibit design and best practices for events, as well as models for virtual reference services. Her recent scholarly works have discussed academic libraries' support of evidence synthesis. She has presented at national and international venues, including LIBER 2022.
Alyssa joined the IU Libraries Scholars' Commons in July 2018. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in French from the University of Kansas in 2016, and her Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018.
