With the closure of the Geography & Map Library in January 2010, aerial photographs have been transferred to the Indiana Geological Survey for their IHAPI project. The only aerial photos that will be retained in the IUB Libraries' map collection will be those for Monroe County, Indiana, though the collection is not complete. They will be housed on the 2nd floor in the Government Information office of the Herman B Wells Library. To view the aerial photographs, please ask a member of the staff. It is recommended that you begin you search on the IHAPI: Indiana Historical Aerial Photo Index in order to identify and locate the specific aerial photographs for counties within the state of Indiana before coming in. IHAPI was developed by the Indiana Geological Survey and is an interactive map that facilitates the identification and retrieval of historical aerial photographs.
