Help Us Digitize the IDS for IU Day
As part of IU Day on April 17, University Archives hopes to raise $10,000 to digitize 1950s issues of the Indiana Daily Student (IDS) so they can be accessed by anyone online. Currently, issues in this decade (and many others) must be viewed on microfilm in the Herman B Wells Library, limiting their use. Join us in celebrating IU Day, student journalism, and IU history!

Before eclipses were the focus of scientific studies and celebratory watch parties, they were the subject of mythological stories that often involved celestial creatures trying to swallow the sun — and never succeeding. In this story from IU Today Moira Marsh, librarian for folklore, anthropology, and sociology, explains eclipse stories from several cultures.
