Wylie House is pleased to welcome internationally renowned textile specialist and art historian Dr. Joan Hart. Specializing in Kashmir and paisley shawls, Dr. Hart’s expertise has aided in advising museums and collectors in the US and abroad in regards to their textile collections. Topics of discussion for the October 30th lecture will include artifacts such as 19th century shawls from both the Wylie House Museum and Dr. Hart’s personal collection.

 

This event is part of the Wylie House Speaker Series. Offered each semester, these talks are open to the public and feature local experts discussing 19th-century topics related to IU history, the state of Indiana, and domestic life. All of these talks are free and will be held at the Wylie House's Morton C.
